The vision for Mission Hill Family Estate grew from the land. The Okanagan Valley, carved from volcanic rock, offers ancient, glacially-deposited soil and diverse microclimates. Standing atop the valley in 1981, Anthony von Mandl saw the opportunity to cultivate wine with an unmistakable terroir.
Then, the Okanagan was largely unknown — vineyards came without the support of a reputable region. Establishing roots in the valley came with significant risks.
Anthony von Mandl persevered. Driven by the relentless pursuit of quality, a commitment to a sustainable legacy, and shaped by the extremes of the Okanagan Valley, Mission Hill Family Estate became what you see today.
